The Sewing Competition - UK 10th June 2017 A Charity Fundraiser and Artisan Craft Fair

Inspired by The Great BBC Sewing Bee Competition, we will be running a small competition in South Manchester to bring together a community of sewers and to help raise money for charity, Tools for Self Reliance.

The competition will set 3 challenges.  The challenges are aimed at every level of sewer, from beginner to advanced, but all amateur sewers (ie not working in the sewing industry and therefore not profiting from their skills).

We are looking for 15 contestants to take part in this event, and you must be a UK resident.  This is a friendly event, and we will not eliminate contestants so each person will have the opportunity to showcase their range of skills in all 3 rounds.  The judges will cast votes at each round and there will be a prize winner at the end of each round and then an overall prize winner at the end of the 3 rounds.

You are required to bring your sewing machine and tools, although there will be some available.
The fee will cover costs involved for us to run a great event and help us raise money for charity.

Alongside the competition, for spectators, we will run another fabulous craft fair with many local artisan goodies for you to buy, treats to tuck into and raffles to take part in to help raise money.

We are hoping that our guest judges will be just as fantastic as last year, Tracey Symonds for TGBSB was invited and signed the prizes, 1st prize was a sewing machine used in the show (a brand new one) and Prym Consumer offered us some amazing goodies for all, including gift bags for attendees which helped us raise lots of £££.  This year we expect our prizes will be just as fantastic so don't miss out!

We need you to attend, to support the contestants and to support a worthy
cause. Tools for Self Reliance aims to provide people with skills and equipment to fight poverty, the money raised helps to maintain the costs of our equipment used to run workshops and to ship equipment to Sierre Leone, Malawi, Tanzania Uganda and Zambia.

So, what's holding you back? get applications in so you don't miss out.
