Halloween Boo! Bunting Wall Hanging
We love Halloween in our home. Maybe it's the warmth of being home together, having lots of fun and playing games with friends who come to join us for treats.
So time to decorate the house and to save the pennies we need to buy sweets and junk have a go at this project.
The few craft supplies you need are:
2 sheets of A4 felt in contrasting colours
a metre of ribbon
Glue, silver thread and a needle
Cut the felt into quarters. This will give you an idea of the sizes you need for the letters or images.
Ok so we need some paper and a pencil to draw our templates
Check the letters or images fit our felt squares
And then when you're ready, let's cut the design from our contrasting coloured felt
Lay all your pieces out before the next stage where will permanently add the images to the backing felt.
I've glued the letters down first but then I'll outline the letters with a silver thread.
Start sewing from beneath the letter to hide the knot.
Continue sewing around the letters.
The bunting isn't appearing in Bramall Hall and it's not a biggie if the stitches aren't perfect;
Halloween is relaxed and fun and a bit scruffy, which is what makes it feel more fun, I'd probably be fussy with Christmas decorations and take the time to get the stitches neater.
Once all the letters are top stitched, spend time positioning the pieces on the ribbon so they hang balanced. The glue will make a difference in the weight. So take care with this step. You don't want a wonky looking bunting... or maybe you do?
And check all the pieces are the right way, before fixing them permanently into position...
Take care & Happy Halloween !
